Botanic Garden

The Botanical Garden of Gijon (JBA) is a botanical garden of about 25 hectares in extent, which is located on the outskirts of Gijon , in the autonomous community of Asturias , Spain . This is the only botanical garden in Asturias, and is part of the International Association Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI).

Aquarium of Gijon

The Aquarium of Gijon, located on the seafront of Poniente Beach, in the town of Gijon ( Spain ), was opened by the authorities on June 9 and opened its doors on June 10, 2006. It is managed by the company Coutant Aquariums.Has 2,000 m² of exhibition, in which there are 60 tanks of fresh water and salt, an auditorium for events, educational classroom of about 100 square meters and an area of ruperacion of mammals and reptiles sailors. Within the 60 tanks are about 250 species of animals, including fish , invertebrates , mammals , reptiles, amphibians and birds . Veranes Roman Villa

The Roman Villa in summer is an archaeological site and an interpretation center of the ruins of a Roman villa located in the neighborhood of Summer in the parish of Cenero council Asturias in Gijon ( Spain ).The site, known as Archaeological Veranes Torrexon is listed as a Site of Cultural Interest .The place was formerly known by the ruins of a Visigothic church. Further research tells us what this is situated on an ancient Roman villa in use since the beginning of our era to the V century AD C.

Jovellanos Museum

The museum "Casa Natal de Jovellanos" is set in a palatial home in the neighborhood of Cimadevilla of Gijon in Asturias , Spain .This mansion dates from the late fifteenth century , becoming part of the famila Jovellanos , when Juan García de Jove ( 1,460 - one thousand five hundred and twenty-five ) built the first building. The home has two reforms, the first in the sixteenth century and the last in 1758 by the father of Jovellanos. The latter is what gives it its current appearance. Currently has two towers on the sides with a building that has attached a chapel (Los Remedios where he is buried) and ahead is the square called "Plaza de Jovellanos."

Museum of Asturias

The Pueblo de Asturias Museum (Museum of Asturias Pueblu in Asturian language ) is an area of 35,000 m 2 located in the town of Gijon and dedicated to culture and traditional architecture of the Principality of Asturias . Before it was known as the Ethnographic Museum of Asturias.
Created in 1968 in the grounds are set-size examples of folk architecture in Asturias, a nineteenth century farmhouse, houses, granaries and bread baskets, huts of Teito, a hand tamper or mill for husking the Spelt and llagares . In their funds include both its diverse ethnographic collection as written documents and oral as well as the Photo Library of Asturias.

Railway Museum of Asturias

The Railway Museum of Asturias is a large complex museum located in the city of Asturias in Gijon ( Spain ), in the neighborhood of Natahoyo alongside the Poniente beach, considered one of the most important museums in Europe of its kind.
The Museum of Temporary Exhibition Room, Center for Documentation own (with a library, newspaper archive of documents and image files), activity rooms, workshops for school, shop and facilities for people with disabilities. Museum Juan Barjola

The museum Juan Barjola is a museum located in the town of Asturias in Gijon , Spain .
The museum was inaugurated on December 16th of 1988 after the donation by the painter of 104 works for the years ranging from 1950 to 1988.
It is managed by the Ministry of Culture of the Principality of Asturias.

Evaristo Valle Museum

Evaristo Valle Museum Foundation is a museum dedicated to the career and works of painter gijones Evaristo Valle . Founded in 1981 , its main architect was Maria Rodriguez del Valle, niece of the artist. The museum houses works by the painter Gijon, but also has organized exhibitions on artists. He was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Real Academia de San Fernando in 1984 and an Honorable Mention of the Council of Europe through his committee for the award "European Museum of the Year" in 1985 .
