How to Reach

By road

From La Avanzada (BI-637), that of the river or by the Uribe Coast corridor.

By bus

Numerous bus lines connecting Guecho leave the municipality with Bilbao, Cruces ( Baracaldo ) or Lejona. There are also lines that connect to the campus of Lejona - Erandio belonging to the University of the Basque Country, although depending on the season, these lines can become virtually nonexistent.

By railway

The Bilbao Metro has six stations in Guecho(Getxo): Areeta, Gobela, Neguri, Aibo, Algorta and Bidezabal.

Fuerte de la Galea

The strength of the Prince's Castle Gale or strong defense is located in Punta Galea at the entrance of the River Nervión in Getxo, Vizcaya Basque Country. Since 1947 does not have any military function. One of the eighteenth century military buildings best preserved of the Basque Country and the best of Biscay.The fort is a military construction eighteenth century and occupied the site of an ancient watchtower that already existed in the sixteenth century.

Aixerrota Mill

Aixerrota mill is a windmill located on the cliffs of La Galea in Santa Maria de Guecho, municipality of Guecho. The origin of the name is another windmill in Euskera. The mill was built in 1727, during a prolonged drought that affected the Lordship of Biscay in the early eighteenth century.Apparently, an Englishman greedy for money, built a windmill that does not need water to grind wheat.

Vizcaya Bridge

Vizcaya Bridge in Las Arenas. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2006 for being one of the most outstanding works of architecture of the iron in the Industrial Revolution. Opened in 1893 as the world's first mechanical shuttle and currently still in service.

Puerto Viejo

The Puerto Viejo de Algorta (in Euskera Zaharra Portuguese) is a neighborhood located in the fishing town of Getxo.
The neighborhood has stood the test of time, retaining all its charm. It emerged in the eighteenth century as a fishing village in the nineteenth century and spread upslope leading to Algorta neighborhood. It is structured around 3 blocks: Puerto Viejo, and New Bank.

House Amorotoena

Amorotoena House is located in the No. 1 street in the municipality of San Nicolas Getxo in Vizcaya ( Spain ).An exempt building is rectangular and covered with four slopes. It consists of ground, first and bajocubierta. Its walls are plastered white raseadas and safe around openings and corners made, featuring stalls latter view.

Church of Our Lady of Mercy

Church of Our Lady of Mercy, Las Arenas. Temple built in the decade of the twentieth century 40 neoescurialense style to plans by Rafael and Manuel Ignacio Galindez Garamendi. Inside, highlights the mural decoration.
