Church of St. Dominic

The Church of Santo Domingo de Elvas is located in the parish of Help, Saviour and St. Ildefonso of the Alentejo town in Portugal.The church, previously a part of a Dominican convent founded in the thirteenth century, is a great representative of Gothic architecture beggar in the region of Alentejo.It is classified as a National Monument by the Government Order of June 16, 1910.The Convent of Santo Domingo de Elvas was founded in 1267 by order of D. Afonso III, after the second and final reconquest of the town.The place chosen was next to the Chapel of Our Lady of Martyrs, currently lacking, where they had been buried the Christians killed in the village taking the Moors.The foundation of the convent was therefore linked to the need to affirm the Christian faith in the old Muslim town.In the convent were built in a local inn and a hospice (hospital).

Elvas Castle

Fort of Santa Luzia

is a museum of photography located in the Portuguese town of Elvas in the District of Portalegre.Situated in the former building of the Central Cinema.It has exhibition halls, including the room of the History of Photography, the room and the room of the Collector's Collection.It also has a laboratory for development of black and white and a small library-themed photography.The bank of images has about 2750 photos (scanned) of Elvas Military, Religious, Monumental and other activities and events connected with the city.

Ethnographic Museum of Arcozelos

The Ethnographic Museum of Arcozelos located in the parish of Arcozelos in the county of Tondela, District of Viseu in Portugal.The museum displays to the public as a permanent exhibition, a house of traditional rural interior of the country through the rebuilding of a home farm of the late eighteenth century and early nineteenth century, including the call shop of the pig, the store of cows, the store of grain, the wine cellar, the kitchen, and the smaller the 4th characteristic of the era in which the beds were no more than easels on which were placed one on these boards and a mattress of straw.Reconstitution museum was made with the use of a house at the time in masonry of stone and wood, which was in ruins and was rebuilt and re-qualified.The Museum resulted from the initiative at local level, the Recreation and Cultural Arcozelense Association (ARCA).
