St.Paul's Cathedral church

Teutonic castle in Elk

Commander of Balga, Ulrich von Jungingen built a castle on an island in Lake Elk.This building was destroyed by the Polish army.It was built on the island of Lake Elk connected to the mainland by bridges wooden drawbridge.He had a strategic position and gave good protection from the surrounding population.Destroyed after the 1410 year, it was rebuilt at the end of the century.The area of the castle is under the care of Conservation and entered in the register of monuments.Excavations are planned before the next transformation in the heart of the Castle Hotel.

Church of Jesus in Elk
