Kayales Cave

is a natural cave located at Didimoticho.The entrance is on the west side of the hill, nearly opposite the "Pentazono" A Byzantine tower on the bank of Erythropotamos.between the asphalt road that passes by the small bridge to the SW of the city leads to the D input.The location of the cave was known locally by old and had given rise to many legends of the invention that wanted to enter this leads to the top of the "good".The first systematic survey conducted in 1963 by members of the Greek Speleological Society, headed by John J.The length of the cave to imaginary line exceeds 150 feet and height during the 30 areas.The surface within the deeper in many places reaching some 3 meters from the level of entry.Immediately after the mouth one finds a small rectangular room that leads to two lanes.The southernmost is wider and deadlock.The second, however, very narrow path leads after about 100 meters in two adjacent rooms irregularly shaped and quite large.

Silent Cave

The cave is located between the Silent Didimoticho Koufovouno and the village located to the west, was investigated in 1962 by a five member team of the Greek Speleological Society, headed by A.Vrachiolidi and is another cave that shows many common features with that of the citadel of Didimoticho.But it has extra special archaeological interest.The entrance is on the road, across from the quarry and 10 meters above the street level.The low but fairly wide mouth - on the north side of the steep limestone hill namesake - leads immediately to the first room, with truly impressive dimensions, lot size and floor level in almost all of the land.The ground is covered today by a thick layer of ash, the result of fire that lit so many years the farmers of the area, finding refuge in the cave for themselves and their flocks.

Mehmet Mosque A

The construction of the Mosque Bayazid (Mehmet A) was commissioned by the Sultan Mehmet, son of Bayazid in 1367 and inaugurated in March 1420.The building was given to Kadis Didymoteicho Seyyid Ali and the monument built by Dogan bin Abdullah with the mechanical Ivaz bin Bayezid.The walls of the monument have a thickness of about 2.50 m and the main entrance is on the south side.On the southeast side is the imposing minaret which originally had a balcony.In 1913 the Turks added a second gallery, higher than the first xanaktizontas the top of the minaret, which had collapsed.

Didymoteicho Folklore Museum

In 1973 the teachers and the district's kindergarteners Didymoteichon agoniontas to save the folk objects of the place, took the initiative to collect and create a Folklore Museum.The Folk Museum contains collections of traditional costumes of the region, other clothing, embroidered beddings and home textiles and traditional jewelry, religious items, images and utensils, agricultural tools and weaving tools, traditional artisans of the region: carpenter, blacksmith, shoemaker, painter clothing and textile fibers.Remarkable is the archival material available to the Museum which comes from donations and includes theater programs, savings programs exam schools of the Adriatic-Zappeion noupolis (1882) and various other publications and manuscripts.
