Bolton's railway station is located to the south of the Town Centre, approximately 5 minutes walk away from the Town Hall.
Coaches from London, and from other places, stop at the coach station on Moore Lane in Bolton. You can also pick up more coaches in Manchester.
St Peter's Church, Bolton-le-Moors, commonly known as Bolton Parish Church, is a Church of England parish church in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. The parish church, dedicated to St Peter, is an example of the gothic revival style. The church was designated a Grade II* Listed building by English Heritage in 1974, and upgraded to Grade I in the early 21st century.
There is evidence from Saxon times of Christian churches and at the time of the Civil War a Puritan and nonconformist presence in the town. The Unitarians were among the early dissenting congregations which eventually included Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventist and other denominations. Over 40 churches were built during the Victorian era but some are closed, demolished or put to other uses.
Bolton Museum is a public museum and art gallery in the town of Bolton, Greater Manchester, northern England, owned by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council.
The collections include natural history, archaeology, art, local history and one of Britain's oldest public aquariums. These are housed, together with Bolton Central Library, in one end of the Bolton Civic Centre, designed by, local architects, Bradshaw Gass & Hope and opened in 1939. The museum has two outlying locations, Smithills Hall and Hall i' th' Wood.
In 2006, the museum became involved in the Shaun Greenhalgh case, when a statue in their collection, the Amarna Princess, was revealed as a forgery.
