Castle Belalcazar
The castle of the Sotomayor and Zuniga is a construction Madroniz Gothic-military, started in the second half of XV century, located in the town of Belalcazar in the province of Cordoba(Andalusia, Spain). Also known as Castle or Castle Gafiq Gahete.
The construction of this castle was begun in the second half of the fifteenth century in order to become the residence of the Earls of Belalcazar, feudal lords of the territory at that time. Its construction dates back to 1450 when John II granted this land to Gutierrez de Sotomayor, Master of the Order of Alcantara, letting you build a castle. Today the castle is owned by the Junta de Andalucia. This fortress is a faithful reflection of the great role that these men acted as patron of architecture and promoters of the late Gothic in the region.
