By Air

El Eden International Airport (IATA: AXM, ICAO: SKAR) is an international airport located in the Colombian Department of Quindío, in the town of La Tebaida It mainly serves the capital, Armenia.It handles all domestic flights to major airports of the country and some international destinations.Following Armenia's January 25, 1999 earthquake, the terminal had to be rebuilt after major seismic activity caused much of the building to collapse. During 2008/2009, the airport's runway was extended, the control tower's height was increased, and the terminal building was partly upgraded to include a new international gate and immigration area. The airport is now capable of receiving aircraft such as: Boeing 737 and 727, Airbus 319 and 320, McDonnell Douglas MD-80 and Fokker 100, amongst others.The new terminal has one food court, three Domestic Gates, one International Gate, two Parking Lots, and is located about 20 minutes from Armenia.The first international flight, from Fort Lauderdale operated by Spirit Airlines, landed at Armenia International Airport on 13 November 2009.There are currently two weekly flights to Hollywood International Airport.

By Bus

The bus terminal is located near the center of town.Busses run regularly to Bogota for around 20 US per seat.It is advertised to take 6 hours but can take as long as 12 with construction and random stops.It is roughly 3 km to the city center from the bus terminal where there are plenty of hotels.Expect to pay no more than 4,000 COP for a cab to the center.Thanks to the combination of the 3 major urban utilities in the city (Armenia Bus, Urban Transport and Cooburquin Miracle City, setting up the new operating company of transport in the city, called RED (Armenia Integrated Transport Operator), the showing its citizens a new image, which has as its main feature, coffee, icon of the city and the department.

By Train

Quimbaya Museum

is a museum located in Armenia designed by Colombian architect Rogelio Salmona.It displays a large collection of precolumbian artcrafts, about 390 gold objects.104 pottery, 22 stone sculptures, carved woods, and other issues, mainly from precolumbian Quimbaya civilization, Embera and some other amerindian tribes.Some of the most important pieces are the gold Poporos (traditional gadget for the chewing of the coca leaves) and the zoomorphic vases.Most of the pieces have been preserved for experts from Gold Museum of Bogota.In its exhibition rooms together with other pottery, stone, shell, wood and textile archaeological objects, these items, made of what to indigenous cultures was a sacred metal, testify to the life and thought of different societies which inhabited what is now known as Colombia before contact was made with Europe.The Bank of the Republic began in 1939 helping to protect the archaeological patrimony of Colombia.The Gold Museum and the Quimbaya Museum are some of its main achievements.

Los Nevados National Natural Park

is a national park located in the Cordillera Central of the Colombian Andes.The 5,300-meter high volcano Nevado del Ruiz is dominating Los Nevados.Out of the 55 protected areas in Colombia, Los Nevados National Natural Park was the third most visited in 2009, with 50,045 visitors.The most visited was the Rosario and San Bernardo Corals National Natural Park followed by the Tayrona National Natural Park.The park's hydrographic networks supply water to over 2,000,000 coffee-growers in the region, and to most of the rice and cotton crops in the Tolima DepartmentThe park is located in the departments of Caldas, Quindio, Risaralda, Tolima and divided in the municipalities, Villamaría, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Pereira, Salento, Ibague.

Colombian National Coffee Park

is a theme park located in the department of Quindio, Colombia, 4 km south-west of the town of Montenegro and 11 km west of the departmental capital city Armenia.The park was founded in 1995 by the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (La Federacion Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia) and the Departmental Committee of Coffee Growers of Quindio (El Comite Departamental de Cafeteros del Quindio).It consists of two main areas: by the main entrance are the buildings housing the museum and exhibitions detailing the history, culture and process of growing and producing coffee; and in the valley beyond is an amusement park with rides and shows.The two areas are linked by a cable car (gondola lift): it is also possible to walk between the two areas via an ecological trail that passes through a plantation of many varieties of coffee bushes.In 2009 the park received its 5 millionth visitor.

Centenario Stadium

is the largest city sports scene Colombian of Armenia , is nicknamed "The Garden of America." It has a capacity of 20,716 spectators. In stage plays its home games the club Deportes Quindio of the First Category A Colombian professional soccer.It was built in the year 1988 and has hosted several international tournaments like the Copa America 2001 , the Bolivarian Games 2005 and the South American U-20 2005 , among others. It is also one of the venues for the World Cup U-20, 2011 to be held in Colombia .For the official opening was held a friendly match between national teams of Colombia and Canada on March 30th of 1988 in which Colombia, led by Francisco Maturana won by a score of 3-0 with goals from Luis Carlos Perea, Carlos "El Pibe "Valderrama and John Jairo Trellez. Then in February of 1989 there would be a friendly international tournament in which selections were present Peru and Chile in the framework of the celebration of 100 years of the city of Armenia.

Coliseum Cafe

is a modern sports arena in the form of flying saucer, surrounded by a soft area of grass, flowers and trees. It has capacity for 9000 spectators and is the setting for competitive basketball, volleyball, table tennis and cheerleading, among others. It is the home of professional basketball in the city, The Coffee Growers. It is also used for performances.

Mary Immaculate Cathedral

the Cathedral of Armenia was begun in 1966. It is located on the southeast side of the Plaza de Bolivar. The architectural design was conceived by Jorge Collazos under the tutelage of Bishop Jesus Martinez Vargas, first bishop of the Diocese of Armenia.The temple looks like a large tent erected in the middle of granite mountains. It has a modern design into triangles, but retains the traditional rectangular Latin cross, no dome. The center of the transept rises a triangle where the lines of the sides are made of iridescent stained glass made in the workshop of the Velasco de Cali. Each side of the transepts provides income to the church.On the left comes from a small park. The same input is connected to another square, the Centenario.On the right side of the entrance is through a terrace which leads to the atrium.The main entrance is at the front, where there is a single door.The three doors are aluminum embossed with religious representations.Separated from the main building rises a tower containing the bell tower, clock and carillon.En cruising the back of the sanctuary is also in the form of a triangle, where stands the altar made of marble and the Christ recorded background made by the master stone Quindiano Antonio Valencia.Under the chancel is the vestry and a small chapel for special ceremonies and under.

Don Nicholas Bridge

one of the most beautiful suspension bridges is Quindio Don Nicholas, on the river Quindio, the old route of the race 14 of Armenia in the north-south, below the park Uribe. This bridge was originally built by the neighbors, including Vespasian Don Luis Jaramillo Hoyos. They made a bridge with steel cables and tables of native trees was replaced by a larger one to design the German engineer Wilhelm Ledher, mandated by the government of Caldas. This is the same bridge, refurbished and adjusted communicates with Calarcá Armenia today and retains the name of Don Nicolas.
